Without chemotherapy, I would only have 2 to 3 months to live, with chemo, I was looking at 12-18 months. The Oncologist thought that I was not well enough for chemo. Libby and I were devastated.

I was started on a course of steroids which would help get the lymphoedema down and make me feel better.

This Monday, I did start feeling better. I found that there were hoards of people praying for me and that made me more confident that I was going to get through this. I was still in pain, and I still am.

Today was another meeting with the Oncologist, this time a different doctor. I wheeled into the consulting room in my chair and he asked why I was not walking. I told him that it was because of the extreme pain in my left hip, where the cancer had spread to my bone. He immediately said that he would get me referred to radiotherapy to get a quick blast to solve the pain problem. That will happen in the next two weeks or so.

Then he said something which made me smile and laugh and cry all at the same time! He told me that I would be starting chemotherapy as soon as arrangements can be made – probably in two or three weeks time.

What an amazing day! Life is good, and mine just got a LOT longer! And I am not sticking to the 18 month limit. I am not giving up! Prayer is working, and my God is in charge of all this!

My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident.
No wonder I can sing your praises!

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”7174″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]You may have read in my post Bad Sad Glad that I saw the Oncologist last Friday and that my prognosis was not good.
