I am not saying that we don&#8217;t understand what we are saying, or don&#8217;t mean what we say. I mean that we say them so often that we lose track of the meaning, or the power of the words becomes detached from them. At its worst, the words become a conversation filler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bible\"><strong>Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,to the glory of God the Father.<\/strong> (Phil 2:9-11, NLT)<\/p>\n<p>Quite often in my prayers and praise I find myself declaring that Jesus is the Name above all names, and I mean it. I really, really mean it! His name is above every name! It is a wonderful name, the name of the one who saved me, and I will worship that name, declaring that Jesus Christ is my Lord! No one else is worthy!<\/p>\n<p>But&#8230;. Name above all names.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is that I am really only addressing part of it. Got the first part, lost the second as it became detached from the meaning. I mean, what names is he above? Yes, names like Barack Obama, David Cameron, Wayne Rooney, Osama bin Laden &#8211; you name them, his name is above them all. But that is the first part.<\/p>\n<p>The second part is that there are other names.<\/p>\n<p>How about<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">AIDS?<br \/> Alcoholism?<br \/> Depression?<br \/> Sickness?<br \/> Money?<br \/> Failure?<\/p>\n<p>What names will you put there?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sometimes I feel that we Christians say some things because we say them.
