Welcome!<\/h1>\n

This was the website of my father Robert Pender, who sadly passed away from cancer on 13 November 2023 in the superb care of Strathcarron Hospice<\/a>. During his long and difficult cancer journey, my father kept a detailed blog<\/a> of his experiences, in the hope that sharing them could help others.<\/p>\n

As ever, the first step is to speak openly about a problem, and in the same spirit, my dad’s wife Libby recently recorded this podcast<\/a> with her friend Sarah for Strathcarron. Describing the painful journey of those who lose a partner to cancer, it is deeply candid; sad but also joyful, and occasionally and unexpectedly funny.<\/p>\n

Life<\/a><\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Sometimes life just goes along as normal, but sometimes it changes very suddenly and it is never, ever the same again. Life has changed dramatically and very quickly for Libby and me because of a very sudden change to my health. It all started in September. We have had sad times and scary times, but we still have life and we are determined to make the most of every second of it.<\/p>\n
