It’s nice to get home, isn’t it? It’s good to get the shirt and tie, the suit and the shiny shoes off, and just get into some sloppy gear that you can relax in. It’s good to switch off all the thoughts about work, the people who have crossed your path, made or spoiled your day. Feet up. Switch on the TV and just veg out, eh? Close the curtains, switch off the phone and just shut out the whole world.

No one can see you, and you can see none of them. Bliss………

I will be careful to live a blameless life – when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. (Psalm 101:2, NLT)

Ahem. Surely, when I get home and close the doors and curtains I can just relax and take it easy? Do what I want? Think what I want? Watch what I want? It’s OK, no one can see! It only matters when they are watching. I will be a good Christian when everyone is watching. I will! Honest! I just need a rest, relax.

I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

It’s been a hard day! I just need some time to relax and recuperate, get ready to do God’s work tomorrow, build up my strength for it.

I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

But no one is looking! No one can see!

I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.

Okay, okay! When will you come and help me?
